Our Curriculum

Geography

At the Synergy Schools Federation, our intent, when teaching geography, is to inspire and encourage children to have a curiosity and fascination about the world, people within it as well as their place in it.

Our curriculum is designed to promote the children’s interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. This links closely to our school's vision where we promote having an inquisitive mind, children asking their own questions and developing their own learning.

We use the Oddizzi scheme of work to deliver the National curriculum for Geography throughout Key Stage 1 and 2. This scheme is well-sequenced, with a clear progression in knowledge, skill, concepts and vocabulary and provides excellent resources to support teaching and learning in Geography.
