Mr Nick Horn

Nicholas HornNick Horn moved from Aylesbury, where he was a Deputy Head at a large secondary school, to   North Yorkshire in 2007 to take up the post of NYCC Senior Adviser for Science in 2007, retiring in December 2019. Nick has lived in Finghall for most of that time and attends the local parish church St. Andrews along with his wife Hilary.

Nick has a very varied career history including being a manger in industry, research scientist and a teacher in Higher and Further Education, 11-18 and Middle schools. He is passionate about our young people developing into confident, resilient and aspirational adults with a deep-seated integrity and respect for others. Nick has a life-long interest in science and science education which he continues to pursue.

Synergy Schools is a federation of primary schools in the north of North Yorkshire. The federation was formed in September 2018 after the 2017-18 academic year, when Brompton-on-Swale and Crakehall CE Primary Schools successfully shared senior leadership capacity.
