On this  very soggy Monday the Y1’s joined the Y6 for their taster session.
The Y1 and could hardly contain their excitement! After getting ready they paired up with a Y6 to walk to Forest School.
The Y6’s were amazing and the care and nurturing they should the young children was fantastic. Our science Governor ‘Peter’ also joined us and commented on the Y6’s the knowledge and expertise they readily passed onto the Y1’s.
After walking the site, bug hunting, leaf identifying and making marshmallows sticks the children sat around the fire to toast their marshmallows. During their free time the children headed for the bog and beck!!!
We walked back to school with the Y1’s  and changed adults before heading back for group 4 lunch. Jacket potatoes with lots of toppings and kitkats. In the afternoon the children made javelins. Using  their skills with the tools they tried to make them as aerodynamic as possible. ‘Why don’t tree grow straighter branches ‘ one of the children commented.
